No. There are no barcodes, no value estimates, no condition grades, and no marketplace. A souvenir in Pocket Curio is a place plus a memory, not stock. If you're cataloguing coins or trading cards for resale, this isn't the tool.

Each collection has a kind: keychains, fridge magnets, shot glasses, patches, ornaments, pins, spoons, stickers, postcards — or Something else, where you tell the app what one is called ("snow globe", "thimble", "bell"). The kind only changes the words the app uses; every collection works the same way.

Most souvenirs have the place printed on them. On-device text recognition reads the print and offers the most likely line as the place, with the other lines one tap away. You check the spelling. Nothing is uploaded — it works in airplane mode.

No — scan the shelf. Take one photo of the whole fridge, draw a box around each magnet with your finger, and the app turns every box into its own photo, reads the place off each one, and adds them all at once. See the User Guide.

Entirely. Pocket Curio makes no network calls at all — not for reading the print, not for the map, not for anything. The only time data leaves the phone is when you share an export or a backup through the share sheet.

No, and it doesn't ask to. Pocket Curio requests no location permission. The map is drawn from the state and country you type on each souvenir.

Give a souvenir a state and a country and the map lights the matching tiles — a US state map, the seven continents, and a country list with counts. It's a picture of where your collection came from, drawn from what you've typed. Abbreviations and casual spellings ("FL", "usa", "England") are understood.

No ads, no analytics, no tracking SDKs, no crash reporters. The app contains no third-party data services of any kind.

Free: one collection and 25 souvenirs, forever — with photos, reading the print, the shelf scan, and memories all included. Pocket Curio Pro adds unlimited collections and souvenirs, the map, and backup & CSV export. It's a one-time purchase ($6.99) or a monthly subscription ($1.49/month); payment is handled by Google Play or the App Store.

It's priced as a gift. The collector in your life probably doesn't buy apps; you can buy this one for them. If you'd rather not commit, the monthly plan gives you the same Pro with no strings.

Nothing happens to what you have. Your first collection and every souvenir in it stay viewable and editable forever. Only adding a second collection or a 26th souvenir opens the Pro sheet — and a counter on the shelf ("Room for 3 more") means it never sneaks up on you. Note that the free tally counts what you've ever added, so deleting a souvenir doesn't free up a slot.

Purchases are tied to your Google Play or Apple account, not your device. Open the Pro sheet and tap Restore purchase. If it doesn't appear, see Help.

With Pro, Back up everything on the Map tab makes a single backup file — photos included — that you share wherever you like: your own cloud drive, an email to yourself, Files. Restore a backup works without Pro, so the file always opens on a new phone. Your device's own backup (Google Backup, iCloud) may also include app data according to your settings.

Yes — Share souvenirs as CSV (Pro) exports one row per souvenir with the collection, kind, place, city, state, country, date, occasion, who gave it, rating, notes, and photo filename.

On one phone, yes: each collector gets their own collection — "Dad's keychains", "Mom's fridge" — side by side on the Shelves tab. There's no sync between phones (no cloud, by design); a backup file moves a whole collection from one phone to another.

Pocket Curio launches on Android first. The iPhone build follows once the Android release settles; email us and we'll let you know the day it's on the App Store.
